Membership to Tau Beta Pi is by invitation. The top 12.5% of students in their junior year and the top 20% of students in their senior year are sent invitations each semester. Membership is permanent once initiated. However, students are encouraged to continue to be active members of Tau Beta Pi once initiated.
Active Member Responsibilities:
- Run as an Officer, or be part of a committee, to ensure the upholding of our California Upsilon Chapter
- Participate in resume workshops for students in the engineering field
- Teach FE(EIT) review workshops for students looking to take the exam
- Plan social, philanthropy, and professional events for students
Active Member Benefits:
- Vote in Chapter elections and decisions
- Be able to wear the Tau Beta Pi Honor stole at the time of graduation
- Be associated with fellow Tau Beta Pi students on a regular basis
- Be able to attend events organized by our Chapter
- Have the opportunity to network with Tau Beta Pi students and alumni in the engineering workforce.
